We recently worked with JanB Dog Training and have come on leaps and bounds with our young, excitable, rescue St Bernard with the help of Jack. He taught us how to ensure our St understands that we are in control both inside and outside the home using various methods but also stimulating her brain and making her work treats when showing obedience. Additionally she used to pull quite badly on the lead and with a strong dog that was far from ideal, through use of a different style lead and techniques this has now mostly gone away but we continue to works on reactions to other dogs. Jack met with us in our home and out walking so really looking at working with places common to us and our surroundings which was hugely beneficial compared to other trainers artificial surroundings. Between appointments Jack kept in touch through Whatsapp and was available on there if we needed to work through anything or had questions. I cannot recommend them enough. Carol Skinner   |     |

Jack was so helpful and knowledgeable when he visited us at our home to observe us and our 2 new puppies. We’ve taken on his advice and incorporated it into our new home routine. Jack was brilliant with our dog, Blu. My partner had been struggling with Blu being reactive to other dogs on walks and we had always struggled with him pulling on walks. Within an hour Jack had shown us how to address these behaviours and Blu is back to his old self with no reaction. Since the session we’ve met several other dogs on walks and Blu hasn’t even pulled towards them, just had a look and a sniff and walked on. Would highly recommend Jack. Especially to those with adolescent dogs who have forgotten their training as he’ll show you how to correct them quickly. Jack came around today to help with my year and a half old Labrador. We have a 7 month old male French Bulldog who is great around the house and family but hates everyone else and all animals to the extent going for walks had become a problem if we met anyone and because of where we live this was unavoidable. Found JanB after some searching and decided to give them a call, so glad we did, the communication was excellent as was the booking process. We had to cancel the 1st appointment at very short notice and even this was not an issue, the trainer Jack turned up early to scout out the area so as to know where we was, knocked at the door and the dog went mental when he came in, the trainer Jake was so calm with him and us because we was as nervous as the dog lol, after a little fact finding he took us all out for a walk to the local shops. The trainer supplied us with a slip collar to try and explained very well exactly how to and how not to use it and what we had been doing wrong for the last 5 months. True to form the dog tried to attack/jump up at everybody. Once we started doing as instructed we were gob smacked on how quickly our dog got it and he was down to maybe 1 person out of 5 he was trying to get to, we are still amazed 5 days later how much of an improvement there has been with his behaviour and he now ignores most people and dogs, still a long way to go but have already booked 2 more sessions to iron out the rest of it. Jack has been a great trainer, really patient with us and our standard poodle (Dennis). We originally contacted Jack to help with recall, but even on our first training session, Jack was happy to talk through some other behaviours we had been struggling with and give us some pointers. The best thing has been not feeling time-pressured with the training sessions – Jack doesn’t clock-watch and if we’re in the middle of an exercise with Dennis, he’s happy to take the time and see it through, which is really helpful. We get a follow up email after each session with things to work on, and Jack is contactable via WhatsApp should we have any questions. We’ve only had a couple of sessions so far but we’ve been really impressed with Jack’s approach and the results with Dennis, even this early on. Mark Hayzer   |     |  

My Dog and I had a fantastic experience with Jack. We regularly attend dog training classes, though this was our first experience of one to one training and it was a pleasurable one. Jack has a friendly and patient nature, my dog a blue staffy is a ball of energy and is excellent at lead walking when it’s just the two of us, throw another person into the equation and he starts to pull and no longer engages. Jack resolved the issue within 10 minutes. I will be using Jack’s services moving forward. On the whole I highly recommend him for his training services. A   |     |  

I have a 2 ½year old GSD she has been going to a couple of training classes each week since she was 5months old,and still having a problem with lead walking away from the training ground. I have had one session with Jack the difference is amazing he has taught me how to get her to engage with me showed me a different lead. It’s been a couple of days working the new way with her I feel more confident and she seems to think mum knows what she is doing. We went through all the basics first and I was really happy with our session. Jack has been more than helpful with the sessions and support that he has provided with my two reactive and aggressive Pomeranians. I called JanB for puppy training and, after 1 session, I can already see it has been a game-changer for us and our puppy! His expertise has provided us with a very comprehensive routine care and, knowing that we are doing it right, has given us such a piece of mind. I used to believe or assume things that I thought they were good for my dog in the past? So that spoiled my previous dog that badly that we both ended up experiencing anxiety issues (begging for food, stealing food off my plate , separation anxiety, complaints from neighbours, issues with sharing the sofa and the bed …) – this time I wanted to do it right . You can see other trainers on-line who offer packs of three sessions for over £150. I can tell that I have done one session so far and I have plenty to work on as there is so much to talk in 1 hours. Had issues with my dog Bella she is a rescue. Tried a couple trainers but due to other commitments they couldn't continue.. So I approached Jack for advice. I explained issues I had.. He came round to assess the issues.. Spent time explaining what to do and show us how to deal with it.. Within a week we have saw an improvement in Bella Early days yet but looking positive.. I would highly recommend Jack as the knowledge he has and the way he deals with issues are amazing. He is happy for you to contact him if any new issues arise and deal with it instantly..
